Residential lighting installation, maintenance and upgrade
Light up the way with our innovative lighting solutions
Residential lighting plays an important role in our day-to-day life. It’s not only practical and (sometimes) indispensable but also mood-changing. Very often people invest valuable resources in luxurious settings without considering the main architectural and space elements. Eventually, the final result proves to be disappointing and simply doesn’t fit the home.
At Jaric Electrical, we understand all these factors, and plan carefully around them to create a lighting design that best suits your lifestyle.

LED lighting
Already used in commercial and industrial applications, LED lighting is slowly becoming Australia’s favourite option for residential lighting too. And it’s easy to see why: this technology actually ticks all the boxes. High energy efficiency, long lifespan, minimal maintenance costs and improved light output are all benefits of LED lighting.
In terms of power, you won’t need to look for the same wattage as your old halogen lights. This is because wattage is a measure of the power consumed, not the light produced – and because LEDs use far less power, they need far less wattage. It’s a significant mind shift that can save you many dollars over the long haul.
You can opt to replace your existing fittings with a huge range of options and styles:
- Downlights
- LED strips
- Chandeliers
- Outdoor lighting
When thinking about downlights, remember that you can find $7 models right up to $50 options. The difference is cosmetic and the quality of the fitting, not the light itself.
If you have a workshop or shed, you may be able to install two LED lights to do the job of up to six fluoroes. LED lights give you high visibility in your work area, and you can get low wattage options too.
You may wish to opt for tri-colour LED lights that feature a dip switch on the fitting. That means you can choose from yellow, cool white, or white lighting options. You can even make your choice when the lights are in place once you can see what it will look like – and it’s a cost-effective option too.
When installing LED lights, your electrician can use your existing cabling and switches. Yet we can use fewer bulbs for more light. LED downlights simply look better too: they are fully enclosed and sit flat on your ceiling – and because the bulb isn’t exposed, bugs can’t get caught up in your lights either. The majority of LED lights can be connected to a dimmer switch. Talk to us to find out more.
LED lights run cool, so they’re ideal for use in a situation where you can get physically close to them. They’re far safer, and because heat is wasted energy, all your power will be sued for generating light, not wasted on hot bulbs.
Life expectancy for LEDs is far greater than old-style bulbs. With a useable life of around 50,000 hours – and with some boasting as many as 100,000 hours – they last far longer than incandescent bulbs (750 to 2,000 hours), fluoroes (24,000 to 36,000 hours), or even halogens (2,000 to 4,000 hours). That means if you use your LEDs for 10 hours a day, they will give you just shy of 14 years’ service. Imagine the cost savings!
CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lamps)
Combining the energy of fluorescent lighting with the convenience and popularity of incandescent fixtures, CFL bulbs offer you comfortable, soft light for an inviting atmosphere.
Similar to LEDs, CFLs are another energy efficient option for you and your family.
Dimmers and light switches
Installing light switches with timers or sensors can save you money and power over the long term. Dimmers also allow you to control the mood of the evening, reducing light intensity to a comfortable and energy-efficient level.
Outdoor lighting
Do you want better lighting outside to enjoy some family time, or perhaps to work in the garden on a nice cool evening? Jaric can provide you with an appropriate outdoor lighting solution to suit common areas, driveways, walkways, pools or patios.
